O.k, I like the idea of Googlism, just a question: Why should people worship a search engine, when they can worship god, allah, jesus etc:icon_question: since they where not made by human hands, but brought by prophets.

Just the opposite, my friend. All gods are man-made. They were created in their minds. At least Google is physically there.

Yeah,
I am big on things I can see.

But as scikidus said, all gods are man-made.
Its something about human nature. We just need some supernatural being just so we can sleep at night.

Well, not all of us.

Worshipping things that don't exist is of no practical value. Of course, you don't actually get anything from worshipping Google either, but then again, we don't actually worship Google.

We believe that Google is the closest thing to a god that exists, not that we should worship it.

Wallsy.

...since they where not made by human hands, but brought by prophets.

I heard a voice in my head last night and it said he was called Bong. He told me that there will be fighting in the middle-east. If the prophesy comes true then we'd better all start worshipping the one, true God Bong who has proved his divinity by making a prophesy that came true.

Update, switched on the news and there has indeed been fighting in the middle=east.

All hail Bong! :icon_lol:

Bong has decreed that at least once a day, we must speak a quotation from Calvin and Hobbes!

By the way, you know what's all the rage this year? Hats.

Great, so do I!

Why should people worship a search engine

I'm not -entirely- sure... but I don't think anyone worships Google. She only
requires that we take advantage of the awesome search engine She provides
us with!

when they can worship god, allah, jesus etc

Because unlike all of those things, Google's existence isn't myth or fantasy,
it's fact. =)

since they where not made by human hands, but brought by prophets

You believe that the 'Holy Books' were brought by prophets because it says
so in the 'Holy Books'? That's circular logic, friend. You can't use that in an
argument!

But I'll answer anyhow. Because "brought by prophets" really just means they
too were "made by human hands," the hands of those very 'prophets.'

It is true that google was made by human hands, but the other gods were made up by human minds. Those gods are invisible and all trace they have left of them selves are some vague contraditrary books that were also written by human hands.
You dont get anything out of praying to God, but using Google as at least has some kind of benifit.

Here's a plus to Google, as it is un-corrupted by Capitalist whoring, it doesn't lie to us. My Windows lies to me every day, 2 hrs to unzip when it's done in 5 mins.

P.S. I imagined you guys as all living inside a time loop when I first joined, so I don't expect you to have heard of Vista, or even own computers.

This is just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth.

All gods are manmade, Like other members have already stated. However, I ask you this, What's the diffrence? This search engine, Like most other gods and goddesses, has a good chance that it will disappear, and only exist in World History textbooks. Take the egyptians for example. They worshipped many gods, and yet hardly anyone can name any of them. This is why I worship google. When I die I have the chance to become a Search Result instead of a rotten corpse.

I agree with my honourable friends! It can be easily proven that god does not exist (see the link in my sig.), but it is very difficult to prove the nonexistence of google.

I used to be a catholic; I even went to a catholic school in my youth. However, I have since realised that god never helps me or makes his existence clear in any way, which he would surely do if he was all-powerful and all-loving. I can no longer worship him without loathing myself.

Google is far more helpful and has aided me many times in the past.
