Not only is Google rated the best place to work, but check out the salaries and some of the benifits they offer!

Google Programmer in Phoenix - $174,000/year
Google Programmer in California - $197,000/year
Google Programmer in Chicago - $222,000/year
Google Programmer in New York - $242,000/year

1) Google will pay $8,000 / year for you to continue your education. They just require you get at least 'B's in your classes.

2) If you refer another employee to Google's staff and they stay for 60 days, Google will pay your $2,000

3) If you are thinking about adopting a kid, Google will contribute $5,000 towards all the legal and adoption fees.

4) Depending how long you have worked at Google you can get up to 25 days (almost a month) paid vacation a year!

I found all of this information from a Digg article. Here is the link:

NYC pays the highest! :D

rzm61
April 11th, 2008, 02:31 PM
Because the cost for living in NYC is quite high. $60,000 a year is roughly the same as $40,000 a year around my parts. If I'm not mistaken.

In John Grisham's The Firm, the law kid kept saying: "$80,000 in Memphis is like $100,000 on Wall Street."

That's a 25% increase in salary to end up at the same place :icon_eek:

Still, $272,000 in NY is good. And that's a salary: what are the year-end bonuses like?

Or better yet: do they get shares in the company? Oh...that would be sweet!

rzm61
April 11th, 2008, 02:51 PM
I think they might get shares in the company. I don't see why Google wouldn't allow them to.

Check it out, Google their salaries and benifits an all.
All that information (mainly salaries) are easily found just by searching. It says so in the article. :D

My Google I love Google. :icon_lol:

Didn't find the stocks, but I found this:

http://www.google.com/support/jobs/bin/static.py?page=benefits.html

They match 401k payments, sick days are covered, maternity leave with up to 75% pay...holy google!

Going back to school (so i can get tuition reimbursment :D )

rzm61

How nice is that?!
The only thing they ask in return is all B's

Edit:

April 11th, 2008, 03:15 PM

I just know I would love to be a part of that company. Even if it was just emptying out their trash cans. :D

Plus I could probably skate around their complex!
Man would that be fun.

I wonder if they would ever make a skate park on campus.

rzm61
April 11th, 2008, 03:16 PM
Actually code has it's own "grammar" if you will psychidus.
If I'm not mistaken I believe they call it "syntax"

Which is exactly why I asked him for clarification. :D

Well I do love me some robots. Also I've made jokes saying I'm a robot, however blood flows through these veins, not electricity. That's my brain.

Anyway, call me a spammer if you will. It's not like I haven't heard that before.

Yes Goofy.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not using the term "tool" as an insult in this context. Usually I would, however not this time. :D

Dr Goofy Mofo
April 11th, 2008, 05:00 PM
Oh because in insult context I am far from it!

I'd like to add that normally, I'd find the scikidus vs. psychidus this kinda confusing, but psyhidus' grammar and spelling suck, so it's not really that difficult.

rzm61 and rzm16 is not so easy to distinguish. Usually I have to do a double-take to understand the quadruple post.

Hey wow!

Good luck with the job hunt, rmz!
That would be an awesome career to have...anyone would be jealous.

Myself...since you mentioned craiglist, I've been internship hunting for a summer asst. position in the film or music industry.

There's even a UCLA class (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/tfr/636433102.html) in advancement from internship to producer or studio exec.

I don't know how much studio execs make, probably around 6 figs. Major or indie studios & labels...all over the globe. Toyota to Lexus?

Summer, am thinking...it's back to class...TV, radio, journalism, or media.

Anyway, I hope you find exactly what you're hunting for.
