Is there a pledge for people for confirm themselves as members of the Church of Google?

Something like:
"I [insert name] do in sound mind solemnly swear that I believe that Google is the nearest thing to God I will ever encounter and I commit myself to her glorious worship forever."

There should be a section next to Introductions where people start a thread with their confirmation as 'Confirmation of Loki' or 'Confirmation of -۞-'.

That way we have a clear statistic of confirmed members - count the number of Threads but other members can congratulate people by replying to the thread.

Ministers just bounce any thread that isn't a geniune confirmation to IFU.

All we need is good wording to put in a sticky at the head of the thread.

Any takers?

Precisely.

We want to be able to claim a number of confirmed believers.

agreed. im only new but as soon as you guys start making this more and more serious your gonna end up like scientoligy. Soon we'll be charging members to swear in, and then its only a short jump to hating doctors and pirates

Why is it that every time some one thinks of making a religion more serious Scientology is throw into the mix?... Is that the road all religions must follow? Who the fuck says that?

I really can't agree with this 'thin end of the wedge' argument.

The basic and public premise of Googlism is by its very nature a limiter on the amount of seriousness it can ever obtain.

As long as it's not too taken seriously, I don't see anything wrong.
Time for a derailment!

"going off the rails on the crazy train"?
(ozzy)

'where are you taking this train?'
"too 'Seriously'"
'may I see your ticket please?'
"I seem to have left it in my other jacket"
'that's it, I'm putting you off at the next stop, 'Reality'"

"Reality is only for people who can't deal with drugs"

Believe it or not, that's what our anesthesiology prof at the uni used to say :D

And, furthermore...

What is so google

damn wrong about the basic concept of:

1) scientology, give poor L. Ron a break, jeez!

2) hating doctors, never met one I didn't [jk]

3) hating pirates...they all deserve to die! hahaha {maniacal}

4) the easter bunny...worse what's kept us happy :D

5) christmas trees, might as well throw that in with the rest of the sink,
or we won't have any to burn down later!

6) lighting a menorah...it's pretty, it's a symbol to describe something indescribable...faith.
