Not too sure about that "cogita." That's a present imperative, 2nd person singular. Tag, you just said:

"Think! Therefore, Google."

Try "cogita ergo inquiro." If you want Google in there, we could pretend to make "Googlere" a verb ( Don't kill me, Mr. Pagonis!), in which case it woudl be "cogita ergo Googleo."

Yeah, I don't have a preference, I just would rather show someone a rough draft and have them reproduce it in a clearer program. I have the idea all worked out in my head, and I am open to anyone else's suggestions or drawings, or comments on my idea. I will try to post something here when I get a chance. I also wouldn't mind going ahead and working on a Tshirt idea that matches the rest of the identity after the seal gets underway.

Thanks for the note. If Daruko has a chance, give me a holla.

I would have thought that CoG would fall under copyright fair-use as a parody (ref: http://www.publaw.com/parody.html and any additional search for copyright parody) Then we could use cafepress.com for sales, and not just t-shirts but CoG mugs too!

And why is it different when you want to do a t-shirt, then say, the logo/image at the top of this website already? :)

Oh hey, speaking of cafepress, if you look at http://shop.cafepress.com/google I think your mind will be at ease about using the Google logo under fair-use for parody. (I personally love Google for President)

I chose one of the shopped logos and reversed it and added a spot color, med. navy blue.

I was thinking of going ahead and printing it out and drawing the church motif over the top of this, but i vant you to approve the text first. also, lemme know if this color works for you. if you choose a blue, you can add screens to lighten or darken the hue, like 10% blue of the same hue would create a tint that was 10% navy and 90 white, so really light. or vice versa with a shade of the hue you choose. this hue is kind of towards the middle-shade end of the pure blues.

Rather - I can do this with any of the shopped fonts, with any color.

Here's another reversal of a shopped orig. logo. this one uses a different effect, but similar feel, i think the text came out a bit clearer on this one. the red is just a dark med red. remember, kids, you can have it your way at mcsherwood's.

just choose #1 text like or not. #2 color like or no. also...suggestions....

fi - "i like the top logo but clean it up a bit and try it in a yellow orange instead of the blue."

or - "i like the second logo, but i want to see it using the same blue as the first one."

or - "i dont like the font changes, go back to the original."

or - "let's see you use logofont #10 from the other shopped thread in a peachy pink color."

* i need your "church" images to work off of, also. I have one in pink, but you could drop an idea of your own in this thread.

Here's the other threads so far:

http://www.thechurchofgoogle.org/forum/showthread.php?t=5532&highlight=photoshopped+logo

http://www.thechurchofgoogle.org/forum/showthread.php?t=5334&highlight=seal

As for a motto, I thought of using:

"In Google We Trust"

My original idea was to have a circle of text with the logo at the top and the motto somewhere either inside or at the bottom. I also thought of using a few banana leaves. Like on the back of an old penny. You could also have a church motif inside instead of the bank, see pennies:

http://www.llamamoney.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/1943-steel-penny-back.jpg

http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/40200/40225/penny_back_40225_lg.gif

you could also just say: "Church" "the church" "The Church" "church" "c-h-u-r-c-h" C*O*G

people will know because they will ask you.

the t could say at the top:

CHURCH*

or

church*

or

c-h-u-r-c-h*

or

CoG*

and then at the bottom or on the back it reads:

So why isn't in IFU?

which aren't even worth using.

The logo we have right now is fine. Turning it all blue or a different font wont do us any good.

Looking for a seal....

Not this:
http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/staticfiles/NGS/Shared/StaticFiles/animals/images/primary/harp-seal-baby.jpg

or this:
http://advocacy.britannica.com/blog/advocacy/wp-content/uploads/spotty-seal.jpg

Something more like this:
http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/images/2007/06/01/change_of_subject_seal.png

This:
http://www.etext.org/Quartz/subgenius/holySeal.gif

Or this:
http://images.chron.com/blogs/techblog/archives/seal.gif

Now there really should be no more confusion as to what the fuck a seal is. If so, you're to the point where you can no longer read or look at images and comprehend what you just saw/read.

Mark Twain and Gandhi are not comedian wannabe's. Gandhi is not even a comedian, know your facts. Those quotes are based on the majority of people, whom claim to be christian and tend not to follow Christ's Teachings. As I have stated to others, a god that would allow good people to go to hell, is no god I want to believe in. I believe what they say based on I have came to the same conclusions on my own.

Also why attack the most peace loving person here?

Dr. Goofy Mofo, DDiv./D.M./D.R.S./M.S.P.

Mods: I request that this attack on my character and my post be moved to IFU. Thanks

Ermmmm Goofy... I think Ghandi was the Hindu in question - not the humorist :D
(And if you think that was an ad hominem then you need to grow a second skin :icon_cool:)

Hi Dr. Lamb (nice surname) - why not introduce yourself over on the intro. thread?
I must admit I'm quite keen on having a philosophical chat about religion. Esp. Christianity/Islam.

Not Dr Loki BA(FFooN):icon_razz:

EDIT:
Practiced the way it should it is perfect [Christianity]
But thanks to Original Sin are we not imperfect creatures? How can an imperfect creature practice perfection?

Yea, I got that but he made that response after I started my reply.

If one is truly redeemed in Christ, he/she will automatically be Christlike. If they are not Christlike, they have not recieved.

lolololololol.

Well then I know a ton of 'recieved' christians who aren't christlike. Better go tell them before they drink the drano!

Practiced the way it should it is perfect [Christianity]. It is unfortunate that those who quote are comedians or comedian wannabe's. Reading about Christ does not make one a bad person, but refusing to act like Him does. On the other hand, good people dont go to Heaven, just the redeemed in Christ. If one is truly redeemed in Christ, he/she will automatically be Christlike. If they are not Christlike, they have not recieved. People who are not one thing, they are another...and so on.
Dr. Phil Lamb, MDiv./D.D.

any religon "practiced"
is better than any
"interpreted"

it doesn't make you right,
but hopefully
it will make you act right
(that is why humans invented religon)

The seal is used to mark important documents in most things, a letter, or in this case the minister certificate was what I was trying to make.

Don't most seals have a motto in Latin like E pluribus unum(sp?). Maybe we should come up with a motto first?

That is true but I supplied motto's on page two and we tried others I think, still no one would make one... I like this avator the best any ways.... I think we will need a new contest. Thanks Sis!!!

Both are really good! :icon_cool:

I like the idea of a mother board somewhere in the pic but the plug is also a good image. It makes me think 'plugged in'. Maybe we can blend the two together somehow?

I also like the 'More flames than anything else' part but I think 'More flames than hell' or some such would be more appropriate. Anything that plays on the word 'flame' would be perfect! :icon_eviltwisted:
