View Full Version : Parody Religion on Wikipedia

I noticed here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parody_religion) that we have been removed as a notable parody religion...

Among parody religions we're MUCH more notable than the vast majority of the current ones listed.

Is it just me or does Wikipedia REALLY have a grudge against us?

Yeah, Wikipedia hates us. They've even got spoof religions from Computer games, for crying out loud.

Yeah, they have Hobboligist on there... From the Fallout games (which I love). It wasn't even a big part of the video game. Stupid.

Umm...Hubologist doesn't have a page. It's like the CoG, on the list...but no page.

The CoG has ahd a page three times. The first two times, the page was taken down because it sucked. The third time, however, I wrote a nice long, sourced article on it, and it stayed up for about two weeks, before soemone pulled it down. However, I was able to retrieve the page, and I'm currently storing it on a subpage of my userpage.

Since WP doesn't have control over the CoG page as logn as it's on my page, I'm keeping it there for safe-keeping.

We've also managed to hold on in at least one redirect page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoG

Visit the CoG-page on hiatus here:

Please don't edit it.

Yes, and a great job you did on that Sci. :icon_cool:

How about trying the Canadian way of protesting? Send a whole mess of angry complaint emails to WP pointing out their inconsistency in what they will/will not accept, etc.

As long as you don't wake people by pounding on their doors bright and early Saturday mornings, then it's all good.

I did a site with some friends about comics and movies. Not religion based at all.

An adorable attention seeking, euphoric, slightly deranged Basset Hound is not going to scare the doorstep preachers away.

You need a cat (http://www.dbhome.dk/carlo/cat.htm). They'll be praying for mercy (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=HPNrJC_-U0c&feature=PlayList&p=14632706F1F0DC65&playnext=1&index=69). :icon_twisted:

Have you ever considered starting a military program there Tag? Sounds like you can turn an animal into a beast. "ooh, lookwhat a cute little kit... OH MY GOOGLE! MY FACE! AUUUUUGH!"

tagnostic
January 26th, 2009, 03:25 PM
hehehe
there pretty rough before i get em
all the cats i've ever co habitated with
were feral's, as is Fingus,
they say animals and their humans are alot alike
Fingus and I are both undersized, incredibly fast
have sheathed claws and will not hesitate to use em.
you should see (i'll get pic's) my flock behind
the Stray Cat, i've got about 11 regulars right now
2 are getting adopted tomorrow, but these are full
ferals, they have a short hard life and they can squabble
Big D is the father (near as i can tell) of most of them
he comes and goes, but he's a 26lb orange eyed, long haired
solid black asassinator, people won't walk their dogs through
the parking lot if they see him.

hehehehe
i also feed them
give them their shots
and find them homes
when i can, they start
feral, stay feral, but if
treated properly they
can bond with humans
better than just any thing
else. the make great cats
just bear in mind that
they don't play well with
others, ie, kids dogs
stangers, although a
couple i got young enough
13weeks went to homes with
small dogs, and they totally
bonded with the dogs

Do they have trap-neuter-release where you're at, Tag?

tagnostic
January 27th, 2009, 06:37 AM
negative,
it costs $40 to have the city pick them up and take them to a kill shelter
its free if there sick and they're to be put down
and in & out spay & shots $125
same for neuter but $85
the no kill shelters are $160 for intake
i do what i can
but i havent hit the lotto yet
and were talking alot of ferals
i've had the 3 top breeders fixed
but thats all i can do for now

rmw
January 28th, 2009, 01:33 AM
They have TNR here, but the cat has to be a legitimate feral and not just a stray. You also have to pay for a distemper shot, which is about $15 a pop at the low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Not too bad, but if you're taking care of what amounts to a colony, it can still get expensive.

tagnostic

they are not the animals
we are,
for breeding them down
for our own safety and
visual stimulation
then abandoning them
we owe them something
besides fighting for scraps
in a dumpster.

on the plus side
blossom might just make it,
he's 8 mos old and got into his first mating fight about 3 weeks ago
somebody (i think Big D) opened a serious can of whupass on him
he was gone for about 5 days, and when he showed back up he was
a mess. wouldn't/couldn't eat, tremors, eyes dripping, and a monster bronchial infection (leading cause of death among ferals is infection from fighting another cat)
the bosses (absolutely the best bosses ever) asked me if they could have him put down. I asked them not to, give him his one shot at life...
i've been giving him about 60mg tetracycline in chicken boullion
for the infections, the Floozy (one of my favorites about 2 1/2 yrs)
just took over for me, she pushes him to the food, makes him eat, holds off the others (she's normally a tiny pacifist abt 6lbs) makes him drink and even though he's twice her size she'll knock him down and groom him,
he's not even 65% yet but even the bosses are starting to believe,
going for the win, I think I found him a home, and if he can hang on a little more i've got some regs (customers) throughing in for a vet trip for him...

got some pic's last night too
just waiting for L to email em

We are all animals, but that is a very heartwarming story. I did not mean animal in a bad way. I hope Blossom makes it! Sounds like Floozy could be a real sweet-heart too.

i had some pic's of me and the flock
(4, some are photographer shy)
they're used to me, and my voice
and even recognize the sound of
my bicycle when i ride up, but
a little scarey around strangers
and this am i got some pics of
Blossom, he is a he but he's a bright
orange with a lionish mane ruff
real long hair, and one of our biggest
local bands is the Gin Blossoms,
so he's Orange Gin Blossom,
Blossom for short.
just waiting for L & J to email them

i do love the little rascals,
it doesn't matter how drunk
the customers get, they'd rather
kiss a rattlesnake with a headcold
than bother my cats, its a standing order.
