We need a Motto. One that can go on the lovely seal I took from the main site.

hi

Second thread I saw a response like this come from you.

Add more content instead of just saying hi. If you want to just say hi, make yourself a thread in the Introduction section.

i know im just trying to say hi and styke up a conversation. why everybody haten on me?? lol... just kidding

February 27th, 2009, 06:19 PM
just saying hi isn't going to strike up a lot of conversation. Especially when you do it in every other thread.

I'm not hateful, however waking up and seeing tons of threads bumped...then just to have a post say 'hi' isn't even worth the effort of checking.

Helpful guide
1. We spend a lot of time here. It's quite good/sad depending on your viewpoint, but it's disappointing when you see a full page of threads bumped, with just "Hi", considering that we're quite used to posts that have content, and it takes a lot of time to check 25+ threads that just have hi in.
2. We generally are quite serious. Some of the time. Other times, we are slightly bonkers, almost exclusively in the "I'm Feeling Unlucky" section. Apart from that, we are generally relatively loose, l especially when it comes to smacking ISA around the head, the poor bastard.
3. Improve your grammar/spelling. Seriously, that's the best way to get in our good books. We don't mind if you are actually bad, but we'd like to see you make an effort.

In other words, you make us Dizzy Miss Lizzy! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_j-o1vtBs1Y&feature=related) :icon_lol:

We generally try to keep the text message chit chat to either General Discussion or the I'm Feeling Unlucky sections. That keeps the more informative, thought provoking and entertaining posts (that people put a lot of effort into making) from getting buried under a lot of nothing.

Welcome btw.:icon_cool:

Back on topic:
I was thinking more of a 3 word motto like what might appear on family crests. For example, my family crest motto is 'Dread God' (Ya, I know :icon_rolleyes:). Something short and sweet that captures what the CoG is about as this will appear on a church issued certificate. The ones under the Rev Jeremiah's sound more like slogans to me. They don't sound 'official' enough, if you know what I mean. jmho

K, here is my entry for the seal contest. It's pretty rough but I'm still figuring out Gimp, so I'll keep tinkering with it to see if I can pretty it up.

The motto I chose is the one I'm voting for, but it can always be changed if another is chosen.

The seal is a cog (for CoG) with nine points (for the Nine Proofs).

In the inner circle is a picture of the Greek goddess of Wisdom, Athena (Minerva - Roman) with 9 points on her crown (well at the mo there's 8, but I can add one).:icon_cool:

Ya, it's hard to tell but I'm pretty sure I can make it look like a ninth point.

go sis, gimp is really fun to play with

It's pretty intense! There's too many features for me to learn and I haven't had a lot of time to play lately. :icon_cry:

Here are my recommendations for a Motto for the church of google, id prefer it go on the Seal that my colleague in the medical profession Dr goofy Mofo created. I have translated them into latin.

Delivering Reason or Vindico Causa

Bringing an age of reason or Addo Aevum Causa

In google we trust or Google nos fides

Google is god or Google est dues

Algorithms over angles or Algorithms super Angli

Messenger of knowledge or Scientia Viator

=D

post no ---> stipes haud

spam and porn were not present in the latin language. so you can just go
stipes haud porn or stipes haud spam
