- Less than 24 hours after her protocol-breaking hug of Queen Elizabeth, Michelle Obama pulled up in front of the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson school for a surprise visit.

On her way to the school, her motorcade passed newsstands teeming with reports about The Hug.

Obama needs to let her go for that! We can't have this kinda blunder! Thank you!

Oh by the way WTF

President Barack Obama holds a healthy 66 percent job approval rating in the latest national ABC News/Washington Post poll, but the president's positives trail those of his better half by 10 percent.

Michelle Obama scored a 76 percent approval rating in the survey, up 28 percent from last summer.

In England, it's really not that big a deal. The Daily Mail says stuff like that all the time.

She's that popular :D

who were you under?

i thought most people were under her.

i'd touch the queen, but she's not supposed to have a body that's touchable or something?

hugging is a disgraceful act and should be outlawed anyway.

disgusting!!

:D

Look, but please...bitch, don't touch.

She may crumble from the weight of her diamond tiara.

Hey, Queen...some advice: get fondled, baby. You'll live a lot longer.

OK, that's piss funny :D
Almost as funny as the US recoilless rifle with a tactical nuclear warhead shoved in it- the operator was in the blast radius :D Classic.

Ya - like Phal said - we don't really give a shit about the Monarchy over in ol' Blighty.
The Queen's ok - she keeps her mouth shut and helps tourism. As long as she's alive we'll be a Monarchy.
When she croaks I think things will change - King Charles the Loon?
No thanks!

King Charles? That's a dreadful prospect.

Hahaha - the Roundheads will spit blood :D
Old Charlie is a bit mad IMO - nothing wrong with talking to plants but he listens to their advice :D

Kingship is doomed.

Not a big deal for me though. Would be happy if Canada became a republic. Better than nothing,

I thought the monarchy was more symbolic than practical? Of course, I live in the US, so what the fuck do I know about British royalty?

No, you're right. They're tourist fodder.

Some folks do still worship the chinless wonders. God save the Queen!

I don't. The class system in England still exists - landed gentry. Lords and Ladies, Knights and Fools...
I'm not into that

I actually did a stand up routine
for a few months back in 84
big fun until the source of my
material tried to shoot me in
the middle of my act
curtailed that career

It seems that her majesty does involve herself in counselling British PMs, but not that much.

And, at least in Canada, Monarchy is officially more than a symbol : the Queen could decide to just dismiss the parliament and have a new election. Only widespread untold traditions make it symbolic, and that only barely.

In theory :D
I think if she tried to exercise those powers we'd have a little revolution.

Queen Liz II or President Blair? I'll stick :D

With an almost fully republican province like Quebec, where I live? Indeed :)

However, having Harper as President is just as awful.
