Can anyone send link me to a webpage, or information on a book, which does a good job explaining historical origins of the Jews? I mean as much about them as possible. Their origins, their race (I hear alot of debate about their race), the indigenous region...google searches have been extraordinarily difficult to pick through, and I haven't found anything of worth.

In particular I'm looking for histories during biblical times (old testament biblical). I'm assuming any information will be based off of Egyptian writings, seeing as the jews/semites/hebrews were rather savage and not much for history-keeping.

As far as I am concerned, books are always better than webpages, but a webpage will sate my curiosity quicker so both are welcome.

Semites = Speakers of Semitic languages, e.g. Hebrew/Arabic. (This why I Lol a little every time, when someone accuses me of being anti-semitic, when I'm being anti-Zionist)

Jews = Followers of Judaism

Hebrews = Pre-Canaan Jews

Israelites = Post-Canaan Jews

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israelites is probably a good place to start.
