Hello everyone, I am new to this website and want to know more about it. I am a Christian and feel very srtongly about my beliefs. If we could have a healthy argument abot why atheism/googlism is a better choice than Christianity, I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to the CoG
Please be aware that
we are more than willing
to have intelligent debate
about just about anything
we try to keep away from
ad hominem attacks
and the majority of us
are athiest/agnostic
quoting the bible is not a citation
we generally want more proof than
that or wiki

Welcome Again
and Enjoy

Welcome Homosapien (you do realise that'll get shortened to homo? :D)

Yeah - I'm always game for a non-judgemental theological discussion. I'm kinda missing them to be honest.

try serious discussion

Loki

Yup - Serious Discussion tends to be moderated more than the other areas.

Well, it should be anyway.

it usually starts well
but it doesn't always
have a happy ending

Welcome I hope you have fun here. Just be warned most atheist and agnostics use logic, I am more cruel, I use compassion.

actually I tend to think of our debate/discussions
as philosophical as opposed to "religous"
because basic tenets and dogma are
usually ignored in favor of a more
universal/general approach
which is actually the main
bone of contention
with most of
the Religous believers
that come here, they want
to jump into specifics without
demonstrating a need for trivial details
first you have to demonstrate prove a deity
before you can pretend to know his/its/her Mind
and subsequently the proper forms of worship of said
hypothetical diety, most internecine (interfaith) arguments
come from the same miscalculation, arguing details without
establishing a baseline of the existance of a diety, just postulating
and running with it is a lot like arguing the semantics of a programming
language when you don't have a functioning Operating system.

Welcome HS!

If it's debates on religion you're looking for, you've come to the right place. :icon_cool:

Just be prepared, it can get a little messy in here. :icon_twisted:
