I said this in another thread but since this is the more appropriate spot, i'll say it here.

I looked up a list of sex offenders in my area today. Surprised((But i guess i shouldnt be)) about how many of them are in the same neighborhoods. In this one Neighborhood, Gaswell, Theres 4 of em clustered there. Two are pretty much neighbors.

I wonder if any of them know each other?

I broke out a new keyboard last night
was somewhat sedated and not paying attention
a few minutes ago, I happened to be looking down
while breathing in deeply, holding it, and
on the new keyboard is a
WARNING LABEL
HUH?
I go through a keyboard about every 2 months
I buy them by the case, usually seijins, (cheap, tough, no frills, good tactile feedback)
but I got a case from ASU's sell off lot
this one is a Compaq 105
With a warning label below the edit keys and above the arrows
it reads
"WARNING, to reduce risk of serious injury, read Safety & Comfort Guide provided with product and at www.compaq.com/ergo"

wow, I had to go look, theres an entire PDF on how to properly sit and type without accidently killing yourself,
who knew keyboards could be so dangerous
I've been typing since 1966 (old royal bang banger) and have yet to sustain a keyboard related injury, just lucky I guess.

so as a public service I am warning everyone that is accident prone or just plain stupid,

Step away from the Keyboard and Nobody gets hurt.

hope this helps

XD Thats so awesome! But the "injuries" are generally caused by hand placement, posture..ect. Thats why they recommend the little wrist jellies for keyboards and mices...*nods*

He really is the best dog. Some one took time to train him. He sits, stays, shakes paws, asks to go out, stays on the property without a leash, gets along with the cats, isn't interested in the bunneh, generally hasn't put a paw wrong yet. I think we'll keep him. :D

Sister Faith
October 18th, 2009, 03:50 AM
A few months ago he started showing up at my guy's work site. He kind of hung out there and at a farm across the road. The farm wife wanted to keep him but her husband wanted to turn him into a barn dog, you know where they keep a poor dog chained outside the barn for it's entire life for what reason I can't even begin to guess?

Anyways, last Thursday while he was playing with the job site owner's 12 yr old dog, he accidentally side checked the other dog a little too hard and the dog's leg shattered. They had to have him put down. After that the owner wanted to run Jack off or shoot him, so my guy brought him home.

We think he is either a lost dog or a drop off because he is very well trained and still quite young (about 9 mos - 1 yr) and half starved, I can almost wrap my hands around his stomach. He's getting spoiled rotten so it shouldn't take too long to put some meat on his bones. :icon_cool:

just cruising the news headlines this morning (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/8304679.stm),
saw a story about india's Foreign Minister, told his Chinese counterpart that the Dalai Lama was an Honored Guest and Religous leader. Apparently in addition to their detestation of him in general, the Dalai is planning a trip to a disputed mountainous region, where the indigenous population would prefer to not be chinese, actually they would like to be left alone, but india is the lesser of two evils. This was the area of the 1962 war. Thier all a little touchy about it. So, the chinese are claiming the his visit is political and fomenting dissension in the region.
i'm not bad at geography, if you name a country (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/in.html) i can usually pick it out on a globe, but i couldn't recall this particular province, Arunachal Pradesh. (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl) didn't ring a bell, so i asked the Goddess, wow. that was intense.....
the only reason its in dispute is they both want troops on the other side of the mountain, and neither wants the other's troops on their side of the mountains. why, i don't know, any troops would be effectively cut off completely, absolutely no way to effectively resupply or support them, it would take a year to get a brigade over the mountains. there is no practical supply line. oh, and they've both got nukes, nodody wants this to escalate. its just not worth arguing over, the obvious solution is to just split the chain down the middle at the highest point, problem solved, but wait, these are politicians, and they've found something to quibble about.
what about the people that live right there in the middle of some of the highest screwed up terrain you can imagine, it makes aghanistan look like a skatepark. why and how any human beings decided to live there I can't freaking imagine.
i'm looking at the map and zoom in a little, sure as shit, up there in the middle of that crap including the 3d highest mountain in the world there's names of towns, I picked one more or less at random, Koloriang, and started zooming in, far out, this place is wild its in a high mountain valley (1040m above sea level) dead center of this range, after zooming in as much as i can, its still just a spot surrounded by green. its in the middle of one of the best passes from china to india, that explains why its there and both want it, don't get me wrong, the route is retarded difficult, but its the best of a bunch of really bad options. so its back to the Goddess, holy shit,
this place has got a web site and a tourism industry (http://www.holidayiq.com/destinations/Koloriang-Overview.html) right in the middle of all this crap.
so, here's my solution,
as before split the mountain range down the middle,
make the valleys make the indigenous people up there
autonomous, the border being the 500 m line on either side of the range,
who needs peacekeepers when you've got tourists, that's the fun thing about dealing with sovereign nations as opposed to asshole terrorists, killing civilians while it happens when the odd maniac ends up in charge, when there are rational governments involved it is a deterent, not that there are all that many, but as a general rule the craziest usually run little piss ant countries that can't attack anyone successfully so they end up killing each other.
not to mention that the indigenous people up there have made a hobby of killing interlopers for alot of generations
problem solved

(and yes, I'm on my 3d pot of coffee)

why do you need the second hand store?
and the "attack cat" sign should be sufficient

HOW TO INSTALL A HOME SECURITY SYSTEM

1. Go to a secondhand store and buy a pair of men's used size 14-16 work boots.

2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns & Ammo Magazine.

3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines.

4. Leave a note on your door that reads:

"Bubba,

Bertha, Duke, Slim, & I went for more ammo and beer. Be back in an hour.
Don't mess with the pit bulls; they attacked the mailman this morning and
messed him up bad. I don't think Killer took part, but it was hard to tell
from all the blood. Anyway, I locked all four of 'em in the house.

Better wait outside. Be right back.

Wow, so much to learn...

My mom insists that we buy only
gallon bottles to drink.
The weirdest thing
is that she refuses to drink out
of a plastic glass.

rofl
back in 92 i was catering a tide commercial
the first morning at the set, i was cooking breakfast
and some lady came up and asked me where the water was
i point at the side of the truck that has hot and cold water taps
she says "no, where's the water?"
'lady, that is water, hot and cold'
"no, I mean real water, they told us they would have water"
'lady thats water and i'm busy'

somebody came up and gave her a bottle of water
it must have been really special water

personally, i was drinking out of garden hoses in '64
and it doesn't seem to have had any noticable effect
so i really can't see paying more for water that i can
get for free than i do for either alcohol or gasoline

I saw this on tv recently and thought it would be a good way to make sure any impurities in bottled water are eliminated before you even open the bottle.

http://www.wikihow.com/Sterilize-Water-With-Sunlight

In the documentary I saw, they used murky, dirty water and made it drinkable in less than 6 hours (3 hrs?).

K, I've packed in the chambermaid job. Too much hard work for too little money. Besides, I think the boss was nickle and diming me out of any bonus I was able to make (he paid by the room cleaned) but I can't tell because he refused to give me any kind of wage statement.

Now, I've got something entirely different and am having trouble finding an appropriate avatar (http://www.zshare.net/video/7114269730056837/) to represent it.

Any suggestions? :icon_cool:
