So, Apparently google earth/maps has created its very own town in England called Argleton. When veiwed its just an empty field tag as a city "Argleton,England" . No record of the town exists other than on google databases. The funny thing is, is that google actually has lists for local plumers, restaurants, hotels, and anything else one might think a town would need. It also has prices for land value and houses, yet....it doesnt exist anywhere else. I felt that this was nessasary to point out for two reasons. Google can now create cities/towns overnight, and should this be our new town were we hail from?

hehehehe
good idea,
but
I saw that and a Google spokesman
said they were taking steps to remove it
and apparently the info came from an outside
source, some company in Sweden that they had
outsourced some detailing too...

but I'm definately down for putting it down
as my home town..

(good to see ya john)

So who should get the death penalty--the barbers for cutting the hair, or the guys who insist on wearing 'em?

Keeping well; I got accepted to read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University. Considering there's an average of 20% successful applicant rate, and just five places at the College I applied to, I'm really really happy :icon_lol:

Nah, that's just a storage depot, that could double as a safe house if things get hairy at the in one of my main bases or my HQ in Kamchatka :icon_mrgreen:

....but when you say 'read' do you mean study?

Yeah, but then Oxford speak is totally unlike rest of the world speak.

rzm61
January 6th, 2010, 09:13 PM
Right on. Just wanted to make sure I understood the terminology. Cause being accepted somewhere to 'read' doesn't sound that prestigious. You know? :D

Tsar Phalanxia
January 6th, 2010, 09:28 PM
Well in the UK, "read" applies exclusively to university, particularly the older universities and more serious subjects. Like PPE :D

no significant change... it's been a bad year for business so we are both working our asses off, so less time to argue.

Old cat was a shy little creature. One day after 13 years she just vanished. Vet tells me it's the way these things work with cats, so after about a month a friend of my tells me he's got kittens, and we ended up with this amazing little creature that barely fits onto a palm of my hand. 5 months latter we are looking at this evil antichrist, flat black, 5 kilo monster. I've named him Gavrilo (after Gavrilo Princip, the black hand movement guy that offed prince Ferdinand, effectively starting ww1)
