I must confess the gravest of sins...

Once, many moons hence... I used lycos search.

Forgive me, father(s).

Forgive me, father(s).Don't worry about it that was a long time ago before you were enlightened.

Forgive me, father(s).

Let he/she who hath never strayed from the path of Google throw the first...; for they are truly enlightened.

Forgive me for I hath sinned!

I hold the gravest and most dark secret within me, and it consumes me much akin to a hungry child and piece of chocolate cake...

I use Internet Explorer.

PLEASE DON'T HATE ME!

Seriously, though, as much I usually hate Microsoft, I have nothing against IE. After briefly customising it as I prefer, I have never had a single problem with it, and thus far haven't heard a single real reason why I should bother changing to Firefox.

Ye of little faith. Get Firefox with the 'God' (you know who I mean) toolbar, download (for free) some extensions, use it for a week AND THEN we will talk. As for the crap cookies you get with 'I.E.' forgetaboutem. Cheers

What hooks people on FireFox is the extensions. You customise it to the point of if you went to another browser, you'd NEVER be able to have everything even remotely the way it way on FireFox. I get the weather on FireFox, StumbleUpon, Google Toolbar, GMail Manager, Image Zoom, NoScript, FlashGot (to name just a few). All of which I could not do without.

The thing is, unlike most people seem to, I don't actually like all thses extra 'extensions' and stuff. Toolbars, especially, annoy me. The only things I really want on the screen is the address bar, back/forward/stop/refresh/home buttons, and the file menus. With IE, I can put all those in one line at the top of the screen, leaving the rest free for the actually website I'm browsing. Why would I need more extensions when I can view the websites I want quickly and easily just through a good old favourites menu?

It is time to reject your own reality and expand you're horizons; a whole new universe awaits you.

You didn't answer the question, though.

'Grasshopper when you can snatch the pebble from my hand...' (shaolin monk to Qui [spelling?] Chang Cane) The reason for such an inane quote? Simple it is a question that must be answered by yourself. I will not enable you in your search for instant gratification. Life's lessons...etc; you get the point. Cheers

its not just virus's

I was trying to convert to linux. Stupid bios wouldnt let me though. Wouldn't boot off of the disk I had. Or the flash drive. So I said, screw it, I will figure it out later. Too bad later never came.

Sounds like you need to get in the BIOS
and change the boot order
alot of machines that ship with winblows
they set the order to HDD first so you can't
boot to a cd and dual boot/install linux

depending on the make & Model
its either F2 or F10
tap one of those repeatedly before winblows starts
and you should get to the Bios

be careful, don't screw with anything you don't understand
just arrow over to boot, select it then use the up/down arrow keys
to set the boot order to
1. CD/DVD
2. External/other media
3. HDD
then hit F10 to save and boot
then it should load from the DVD
