So, where did your nickname come from? Any special meaning behind it?
Nameless
September 8th, 2006, 04:21 AM
I started using 'Nameless' as a username ages ago... I can't remember why, though. Probably something to do with not having any more creative ideas. I have had to put up with so many 'ur username is namelesss OMG lol irony hacked' jokes that it's not funny.

Tofu
September 10th, 2006, 12:59 AM
It all started in the summer of '04. I was joining Toontown, the first MMORPG aimed at 7+ year olds. It even had safety features for them. I was trying to think of name ideas. Then, I remembered a word I heard on Dexter's Labratory. It was said by Mandark's hippie parents. It was Tofu. I wasn't sure it a piece of food. All I knew was that it sounded cool. After that, I didn't start using Tofu on other sites. I started using Weebl, the name of a webtoon character and the creator of that webtoon and several others. The webtoon was Weebl and Bob. The creator also owns Weebl's Stuff. The two merged eventually. Eventually, I got sick of using Weebl for all the sites I joined, and I started using Tofu.

Well, I have no idea what you're talking about. :? I go to no such boards with those initials. You're probably thinking of somebody else.
glbanksitter
September 12th, 2006, 01:51 PM
Glbanksitter has a somewhat long story behind it, albeit not very interesting. I play this online game known as Ultima Online and often visit the official forums at uo.stratics.com. My name, glbanksitter, was created to make fun of a reporter (who, oddly enough, I ended up working with about 2 years later [I guess that’s the definition of the word Irony :P ] ) who wrote an article about “Bank Sitting” which is when a character idles at the bank and watches the screen whilst doing nothing (often looking for deals on items as the bank is the live-action marketplace of the game; besides the vendors and player-ran auction houses, but that’s an entirely different situation and post). I, being a bank-sitter, and playing on the Great Lakes shard (A.K.A. GL for short) came up with the name “glbanksitter”, and am still using it to this very day.
Nanashi
September 12th, 2006, 05:03 PM
Nanashi[ななし] is "nameless" in Japanese. It proves as a good name to draw people who know Japanese to me, as well being fun to say!
I guess the only story behind it was that I began using it as a FFXI character name when I switched over to that.
@glbanksitter: UO :) Good times... My first and most memorable MMO addiction. Lake Superior, here. :3

I was typing "Master Chief" and ended up with "Master Choeif". I played around with it in my head for a while and out came Mr Choeif.

Tsar Phalanxia
May 28th, 2008, 01:55 PM
The Tsar, I got elected by all your peeps to be your overlord, but the Phalanxia is more interesting.
When I joined Toolkitzone (TKZ) I tried to think of a name. I'd just got Rome:Total War and I was in the middle of a Greek Campaign, where I was pwning everything with my Phalanxes (Until this Battle outside Capua...Which involves arrows, solums and flanking on a tremedous scale...but that's another story) So I got Phalanx, and decided to make it a name by putting -ia on the end. Generally, if someone is called Phalanxia on t'net, that's me.

bouchie
May 28th, 2008, 07:25 PM
bouchie: It's just my nickname from highschool. I got it from a Phillipino teacher who just yelled it out randomly one day.
I've also been called "Monsieur bouch-bouch" by a french teacher.
I thought of calling myself B-continum originally (because of my original avatar). But I figured I was going to change it at some point and the name wouldn't make as much sense with a Saito, Cloud or Dante character.
Sister Faith
May 28th, 2008, 09:25 PM
I felt the call to join this church because,
My first name is derived from a biblical character and means the peace maker. My middle name is Faith.
My last name means deceptive talk or humbug.
If I believed in a god, I'd have to say that finding this site & becoming a member was pre-ordained!;)
And since I am a sister to 4 sibs, I chose Sister Faith as my nick.
Vexx
May 28th, 2008, 10:16 PM
I named myself when I couldn't find any other nick on another forum I joined years ago. I then typed in the name of the game I got for my birthday that year and it showed itself as available. :'D It's been my name ever since!

Lilith
May 28th, 2008, 10:25 PM
I like Lilith, cause she was the first women in the Abrahamic myth and stood up against Adam (I guess he has issues to let her 'on top'), so she was banned out of Eden.
Well, kills kids now as a demon but nobody is perfect :D
I was Iduna before, but somehow managed to throw myself out!
Hi Vexx :)
