Here's a link to an Aussie radio station. They're having what they call 'The Impossible Music Festival". They have a list of live recordings ( a huge list), and listeners get to vote for the all time best acts they'd like to see at a festival, if it was possible.
Who would you vote for? Alot of you mightn't have heard of some of the Aussie bands, but there's plenty of others to choose from.

Among my choices would be:
Kings Of Leon (2006)
Nirvana (1992)
Lyrics Born (2005)
Darkness (2003)
Datsuns (2002)
Dick Dale (1995)
Eels (2003)
End Of Fashion (2004)
Eskimo Joe (2004)
Everclear (1997)
AC/DC (1975)
AC/DC Tribute - JC/DC (2005) This was great!! I remember it from last year, they did it on the breakfast show.
Faithless (2001)
Fatboy Slim (1999)
Fear Factory (1999)
Foo Fighters (2002)
Franz Ferdinand (2006)
Fun Lovin' Criminals (1999)
Go Team (2005)
Grandaddy (2004)
And I'm only half way through....damn!! I can see I'm going to have to work on my short list. By the way, if anyone's really interested, you will be able to listen to it too, you can even vote if you want to.
There's a 'listen' button on the home page:

Impossible is the right word for this festival! Why Why OH Why can you only chose ten bands? It is neither fair nor just. So I did the only thing I could in the situation: chose those that I am really unlikely to be able to see again, so mostly oldies, Here is the list:
Baby Animals 1991
Radio Birdman 1987
Celibate Rifles 1983
Concrete Blond and Andy Pryboy 1990
Machine Gun Fellatio 2002
Hunters and Collectors 1982
Porno for Pyros 1996
Split Enz 1979
Fun Lovin Criminals 1999
Ian Dury and the Blockheads 1981
The obvious falt in my logic is: radio birdman just released a new album a few months back and ashamed as I am to say it: I have not heard it yet!
Cheers for the link JA.

Amusingly I couldn't find 10 bands that I liked from the list. Oh well.

Am I going to have to put up with petty jabs from you the whole time I post on this forum?
This has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Kindly sod off.

Who would you have put on your list then? I thought that there was quite a diversity in peoples choices. Oh - I forgot to add Niggers With Attitude, just love those gangsta "slap my bitch up " lyrics NOT

On second look I found a few I like:
System Of a Down (2005)
Police (1980)
Placebo (2004)
Pearl Jam (1998)
Reef (1997)
Muse (2000)
As far as music goes my favorite genre is progressive, so bands like Tool, A perfect Circle, King Crimson, Yes, Jethro Tull, Van der Graaf Generator, Spock's Beard, Genesis, Marillion, Wishbone Ash and their ilk.

It's on now...and here's the final list. There's some great stuff coming up tomorrow. I'm just listening to 'Rose Tattoo' from 1980 (an Aussie band), I forgot how good they were.
