Lets talk about the sheer stupidity of psychics like John Edwards and Sylvia Browne.

Is Sylvia Browne a quack? (http://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/browne.html)

9/11 controversy

Edward's most controversial show went unaired. Shortly after the 2001 World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks, Edward began filming at least one special in which he met with some relatives of the victims, with the intention of "communicating" with those who were killed. The trade magazine Broadcasting & Cable sent a story, "'Psychic' Plans WTC Victims Show", on the daily subscription-fax sent to news media and TV-station executives on Oct. 25, 2001. Steve Rosenberg, president of domestic television for Edwards' production company, Studios USA, had tentatively scheduled the program(s) to air during the November sweeps period, but news of the taping sparked a national outcry. Both Sci Fi and the Crossing Over with John Edward production office were flooded with phone calls and e-mail, some expressing outrage at the exploitation of the national tragedy, others at what they perceived at extreme tastelessness in search of ratings. Rosenberg initially ignored the criticism, insisting the programming would go on scheduled, but within hours terminated plans.

Personally I think that people like Edwards, who exploit peoples grief, are the lowest of the low.

As an 'Idiot Savant' I know says 'beware of the ones that do it for money; they are either fakes or downright dangerous'.

Since it seems to be my hobby to refer to south park episodes (lets face it the writers are gods among men)

The one called "the biggest douche in the universe" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Biggest_Douche_in_the_Universe is hilarious.

P.s. the biggest douche in the universe is refering to john edwards

Psychics don't actually speak to the dead. They have just formed a career by giving a hazy question to the customer, who responds with a detail that the quack uses to ask another question. Eventually, they have enough information to give an answer credible enough to give the customer what he wants. I also may mention that these customers HAVE had a loved one die, so their emotional/mental wellness is questionable at this time.

Psychics should be refered to by their more accurate title - Proffessional Bullshitters.

With that said, you gotta admit, they do pull a lot of probability and statistics out of their ass on the fly and make it work. Some one did it to me once while I was working and explained it after when I got nervous as to how they new details about me that should not have been known.

Yeh its a talent and scary when you dont understand how they do it at first. I cant remember what the term for it is, like if you wanna learn how to do it. It'll come to me
