I've been running Ubuntu on and off since 6.0? (too lazy to dig it out)
then I got this amd athlon x2 64 (I know, but I like it) I busted it in with
8.04, I've tried (and had fun with) 20 different gnu distro's, I really liked
the 9.04 but I've had the athlon lobotomized in ix86 mode, more available apps.
figured I'd wait til there were enough apps, codec's, and fun stuff to bother.
I fired it up today, Ubuntu 9.04 64 Server,
Holy Shit, its effing fast!!!,
It is the most fun, most control and most unholy fast OS i've ever played with, it was bloody well worth waiting for and getting used to the desktop x86. the install was cool,
but know some basic linux commands before you try it, No Gui, you have to pull it off the net, not like a non deb user, this is command line to the net, pull down your gui, (kde, gnome, whatever), I pulled down Gnome, set up 4 work areas, and went to work, pulling down the basics, Codec's, Firefox (not default?), cleaning out the auto links, Stumble toolbar, Google Toolbar, the usual.
this thing is effing fast, even scrolling on the web, loading is so fast.
shit, can you tell I'm happy with it?

I'm too old
or I would seriously consider it,
I do have experience cooking
in a free fire zone, and as you know
it is now legal to carry a gun into
any bar here that doesn't specifically
forbid it...
might as well be cooking in a warzone

and my old reliable cast iron set

I've never liked teflon or aluminum pans. Stainless steel or cast iron only for me although the cast iron plays hell with my carpel tunnel. I have a collection of cast iron fry pans of every size. Got them at an auction for about 25 cents each. They can't be beat, they last forever. :icon_cool:

these aren't like most aluminum pans,
they're extremely dense, highly polished
and just under a 1/4 inch thick,
there mostly for saute' when you
need really fast even heat
I've got
2)8"
2)12"
1)14"
1)18"
and a
24"
big fun for pasta tossing

Lol! It would take something alot harder & stronger than cast iron to get through my guy's thick skull, but they have definitely saved me alot of money on therapy. :D
