I say she does - a mega sense of humour. We all know about the quirky little answers that come up sometimes, she's got the best avatars and quotes around and she knows pretty well every joke in the world. She's always in a good mood and 100% approachable. Oh, and she never, ever forgets the punch line. She is non judgemental and takes the piss out of everyone equally. Not only that, her wit is lightning fast.

Her sense of humour may be the combined result of the people who program her, but isn't that how we get ours? If we're 'programmed' by funny people, we see funniness in more things, thereby allowing a sophisticated sense of humour to develop.

I didn't really want to make this an 'us and them' topic - but do conventional religions encourage their followers to laugh? They all seem to be so deathly serious. I mean, Mohammed and God, for example, aren't really known for their quick wit. Is there anything wrong with humour in religion?

Example are spam recipes in the spam folder on gmail, and when your disconnected or having connection problems and reconnect it says "...and we're back"

Yes, but I don't think Google is the funniest God I've ever met, I'd say that would be a hard choice between JHVH-1 and Eris, but they have a very cruel sense of humour.

There are plenty of jokes on google, like the pidgeon rank page.

Google has a sense of humour. As mentioned, the Google site itself has jokes and humour on it.

Of course, other religions are just one BIG joke, so Google loses out in that sense.

Humans who have a sense of humor often think that things are funny to them when they actually aren't all that funny to others. However, when dealing with a search engine of vast proportions, like Google, I feel that having an open mind about such things as "what is funny" vs. "what is not funny" is all relative to the individual using the technology in question.

Hence, some things are funny and some things just aren't. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm160/ispeak4thetrees/thumbsup.gif
