I have just gotten Plus for messenger, I must say, MSN Messenger and plus together is very impressive. I am able to check, all my em-mails at one time. It is a pretty awesome product together. I know it is Microsoft, but that is actually really good.

Yeah, company loyalty always sucks in the end anyway.

I think I'll upgrade to that on MSNIM

I use Trillian for all the IMs, personally, if I`m on Windows.

Or Gaim, if I`m using Linux.

Hmm.. I'm sure that is devil worship!

Personally I think that GChat is awesome but not enough people use it because MSN and AIM are too popular. Hopefully there will be a legal case that MS cannot incorporate an IM into their OS

Same here.

Although I'm as against Microsoft as any of the Googlists, they do come out with a semi-good product once in a while (OSs being the exception :P)

Windows Live Messenger is pretty great, I definatly prefer it to AIM but no one I know is on it.

Okay so thats about the only microsoft product I like :P

Hopefully there will be a legal case that MS cannot incorporate an IM into their OSFirst Internet Explorer, then Media Player and now MSN Messenger?

What's next? Background images, icons, sounds, notepad, wordpad, paint, image and fax viewer, the start menu, loading screen??

Take a look at Mac OSX, it has EVERYTHING anyone would need to have a complete working os with lots of features. Do they get sued or wished they wouldn't do it? No...

If you don't like MSN Messenger, then don't use it! Don't blame Microsoft for adding a piece of software that's not entirely an important part of the OS.

Do you want a text only shell like DOS? Then you can download the entire interface yourself, because what if there was a better interface than Windows, then people wouldn't download it because Microsoft has already added their own?

Come on.. Should the car industry stop putting seats in their cars because Recaro makes better seats, but who would want Recaro cause there's already seats in their car? .. Bah.. Or should Michelin force the car industry to sell cars without tires, because some noob won't buy Michelin tires instead of what's on the car as he buys it?

I don't think so..

As it is community software it is more the other people who have it which makes it good. No-one would use it if their mates used something else

That don't mean that Microsoft should remove MSN Messenger from Windows. Just use another product if you're not satisfied with Microsoft's product.

My confession is... I pay a monthly subscription to MSN Radio Plus. But that's just because there is no other service which streams to an application which has the stations MSN Radio has. MMJB is good, but I can't find the place to cancel my subscription to MSN, so...
