Charming. Search engine is accused of gathering information. What next?

Information is used to abuse users while making profits. The info can be sold to other organizations as well. It seems google is doing just that because it makes profits on advertisements.
Informations is something that is rather important nowdays. It can be used against you such as to discriminate or to extract money out of your pockets.
Did you know that there has been a plan proposed of having microchips inside people to tag them? Atleast one family has already installed them. This leads to a lack of privacy and in turn into enslavement and abuse by the gov't.

You`re silly.

End point is - if you can`t be assed to protect your privacy yourself, you deserve to be swindled.

Think about it. What CAN Google compile?

Search queries? Well, DUH, that`s how they determine pagerank - by averaging, how many people look for what and in which terms.

Ad clicks? Well, DUH! That`s how they determine, how much they`ll pay to all those who hosts Adsense banners and whatnot.

Email addresses? Treading a dangerous line here, man. It`s widely known, that Gmail is protected against a big number of adveretisement spam. I don`t think they`d go through hassle of protecting them, if they`d be selling lists to spammers.

Email correspondence? That`s over the safety line, actually. Google might as well refuse services and (or) sue, should you directly accuse them of violating their own TOS. Considering the amount of people using Gmail, I don`t think they have the resources to monitor that, anyways.

Gtalk chats? Ditto. It`s INSANE amount of information, to process it, one`d need something like project Echelon, and that`s where conspiracy theories are born.

User details of Google accounts? The very SAME details they openly claim to be viewable by anyone logging in? Not even funny, man. Well, doi, they have them - as well as any Tom, Dick and Harry, who has the braincells to look.

So.... WHAT kind of privacy breach Google is guilty of?

Collecting publically available information about you, and providing free search&access to such?

Well... That`s what it`s SUPPOSED to do as a search engine, surprise-surprise!

Yes, information CAN and WILL be used against you and to make profit from you. It`s been this way ever since the concept of information was born (which, coincidentally, was far before Homo genus even emerged).

Google is MOST EFFICIENT in seeking information, therefore it "breaches" most of "privacy". Is Google really evil for doing what it does best?

Or are people evil for putting their dirty laundry all over the net, and then getting iffy, when someone notices it?

As for chips...

Get serious. This is crackpottery. If you AGREE to have tracking hardware installed in your freaking body, you don`t have the right to complain, when it actually tracks you.

Don`t want it? Don`t get it. Simple as that.

Honestly, for a government, it`s MUCH easier to track you schmoes by your cellphones, then invest one hell of an uncle-Sam sized bucks into sci-fi project.

Governments are usually practical in middle management. And though I wouldn`t put it past yankees to spend billions on solutions, which were defined too tightly (Spending millions to develop a pen, which would write in spaceship on orbit, for example. Russian and French simply used pencils.), some things are too obvious to even most narrow-sighted people.

There are CHEAPER and more reliable ways to track you all people down without forcing some chips down your skin.

The good news (The Gospel) is that Google doesn't come CLOSE to abusing it's users in the way that Religion does!

Newsflash: The Archdiocese of Los Angeles is set to pay 580 people abused by priests $660 million dollars. Someone pass the collection basket! The church needs to raise money!
